What is NEMSIS TAC?

A keyboard with a key in red that reads "HELP."NEMSIS TAC, or the National EMS Information System Technical Assistance Center, is the resource center for the NEMSIS project - the development of a national EMS database.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to state, territory, and local EMS agencies
  • Provide assistance to commercial software vendors
  • Biannually assess all state's and territory's capabilities to provide data to the national EMS database
  • Collect EMS data from five states (First year goal) to populate the national EMS database
  • Creation of reference documents, such as dataset explanations and validity documentation
  • Maintenance of the dataset and the XML schemas
  • Create compliance policies and software to assess the capabilities of EMS software applications
