UPDATE 8/7/2024 – The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) Drug Overdose Surveillance Dashboard tracks occurrent fatal and nonfatal drug overdoses. Fatal drug overdose data are provisional and identified by CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics from Multiple Cause of Death Files provided by the 57 vital statistics jurisdictions. Suspected nonfatal drug overdose events in the pre-hospital care setting are identified from nationally submitted emergency medical services data.
