NEMSIS V3 Implementation Tools

State V3 Implementation Timeline

Information regarding the state transition to and implementation of the v3 Data Standard was last updated on February 2, 2023.

  1. Planned time frame for Version 3.5 to "Go Live": Q1 of 2023
  2. Planned time frame transitioning of all provider EMS agencies to v3.5.0 data: Q4 of 2023;
  3. Planned closure date for no longer accepting v3.4 data: TBD
  4. Additional Information on the transition timeline:
    1. It is Florida’s intent to be in compliance with the President’s Executive Order; therefore, the following changes were being made to the Florida Data Dictionary.

    Elements ePatient.13 - Gender and dPersonnel.12 - EMS Personnel’s Gender will be labeled as “deprecated,” meaning they will no longer exist in the data standard.
    ** New elements ePatient.25 - Patient’s Sex and dPersonnel.40 - Personnel’s Sex will be added, allowing code values for Female, Male, Unknown.

    EMS agencies and vendors will be expected to submit data in compliance with these revised standards no later than October 2025.

    2, Implementation of V3.5.1 - It is Florida’s intent to allow submissions of V3.5.1 during 4th qtr. 2025. Vendors are required to comply with the Florida Validation Process prior to submitting V.5.1
