Tony Tsai
Tony Tsai is the Director of Education Strategy and Leadership Development at the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he works to rebalance the why and the how of education. He has partnered with thousands of learners, faculty, and staff to strengthen meaning, purpose, and leadership within medical training.
Tony’s career spans business, military service, and organizational development. A graduate of the Wharton School and former U.S. Army officer in the 3rd Infantry Division, he later earned his MBA from Columbia Business School and worked in corporate finance—discovering that his real passion was mentoring people toward meaningful careers.
He transitioned to higher education in 2005 as Director of the Career Center at Michigan’s Ross School of Business, then joined the University of Michigan Medical School faculty to teach leadership, develop a master’s program in medical education, and help redesign the curriculum around student leadership. He also contributed to cultural transformation efforts in value-driven healthcare through the Health System’s Organizational Development office.
Today, Tony continues to advance physician leadership and educational innovation, helping medical education evolve toward greater agency, purpose, and human connection.
Juho Riihimäki, Senior specialist
Juho Riihimäki is a Senior Specialist at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare and a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Tampere. He specializes in acute healthcare services, performance management, and knowledge management. His professional background ranges from operational and managerial roles in emergency medical services to various specialist positions in knowledge management, and currently to a national-level role focused on advancing the secondary use of acute healthcare data.
Viljami Lampilinna, Development manager
Viljami Lampilinna is a former EMS and ER professional who decided during one night shift that things ought to change. Following degrees in administrative and military sciences the government of Finland has provided him with ample opportunities to make change ranging
from forming the national medical helpline 116117 and kickstarting the national EMS database. He currently works as a development manager for the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) developing national and Nordic situation awareness functions in social and health care. EMS was and always will be close to his heart with an ongoing side hustle to foster international co-operation with facilitating the Nordic-Baltic EMS Network and building bridges between the Finnish EMS data and the whole wide world.

As part of the annual meeting, participants will have the opportunity to take part in a curling activity. Please note that curling is played on ice and involves physical movement and coordination.
The ice surface is cold and slippery, which may increase the risk of slips or falls. Participants should take appropriate precautions and be mindful of their footing at all times.
For safety and comfort, all participants are required to wear:
- Closed-toe athletic (tennis) shoes
- A warm jacket
